Be the light when no one is looking.
Be the light even if everyone can see.
Be the light not for your glory but His.
Be the light so others might be free.
At first the shine of Christ’s light in you might be too bright for some eyes to appreciate, but with time they will begin to recognize this is what they really need.
You may have to endure some loneliness or even ridicule from those accustomed to darkness, but there is no greater pleasure then fulfilling your God-given purpose.
So be the light, for how can you not be,
for Jesus the light has filled you, has loved you, has freed you and called you to be who you were created to be
. . . . a light.
ONLY ONE SERVICE ON
Alliant Energy is needing to do an 8 hour outage of electrical service on Sunday February 19 and so we will only have a 9:00 a.m. worship service that day.
VALENTINES OUTREACH INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you to all who have brought candy in! We will continue to received donations through Sunday so bringing more in will be great! The more we have the more we can accomplish! In the past we have taken some to Francis Lauer for the kids there or Prairie Ridge for patients. Depending on how much we have will determine how much we can do.
This Sunday we will have many bags prepared for people to take and distribute on Tuesday the 14th (Valentines Day of course!). We will also use whatever addition candies come in to add to our bag number and they will be available to pick up on Valentines Day morning at the church. It is really fun to pass these out to people as an expression of God’s love to them.

NEW CHECK-IN SYSTEM FOR
This past Sunday we started using our new check-in system for kids nursery through 6th grade! We would love to say it worked smoothly but it didn’t. Practice makes perfect! We appreciate your patience and support as we implement this new system. Having kids in the basement, once it’s completed, will go much more smoothly and safely with this system in place. We learned some things from this past Sunday and look forward to it going much better this Sunday! Check-in is in the hallway where the nursery and preschool rooms are and is done before the start of each service. We will learn together!
Pastor Jason is helping to lead this event.
A number of Mason City worship leaders are gathering together for a city-wide night of worship. Their vision and purpose is to join together as a community to enjoy worship through music and fellowship together as the Body of Christ. All are welcome!
The first gathering will be held at Rhythm Church.MISSIONS TEAM UPDATE
February Doers of The Word:
Living Free began in May 2016. It’s purpose is to offer support, encouragement, discipleship, and care for women of North Iowa who are seeking life changes. They may be on probation or parole from prison, seeking freedom from addictions, suffering with depression, or struggling with other life challenges. Living Free currently offers non-residential groups and mentoring, has just hired their first part-time staff person (PCC attender Tammy Perry), and hopes to begin residential ministry later this summer. In addition to groups at their ministry house (114 4th St. NW) and weekly bible study at the jail, they are just beginning to offer groups at Prairie Ridge and Beje Clark transitional center. The opportunities are plentiful for encouraging women in our area and to be an encourager through volunteering and financial support. See the display at the Welcome Center or Praise Cafe to learn more or talk to Pastor Jani who is on the Board of Directors.
Next Missions Meeting:
Laura Rechkemmer, missionary supported by PCC, is returning to the US from a trip to Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Estonia. The Missions team invites the congregation to an open missions team meeting Thursday, Feb 16th @ 7pm to meet and hear what God is doing through her ministry.
This event will begin with a SOUP SUPPER and everything will happen in the Praise Cafe. A video will be viewed each week with discussion time following. Children’s classes and youth group will continue as usual.
